Karni Sena challenges the makers of Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj now

Indian film actor Akshay Kumar’s upcoming period drama film Prithviraj is seen to be surrounded by controversies with Karni Sena. The film is based on the life of great king, Rajput Prithviraj Chauhan. Actor will be seen essaying the role of King Prithviraj Chauhan. Karni Sena has raised an objection against the title of the film. The organization also says it should be renamed.

Indian film producer and youth leader of Karni Sena, Surjeet Singh Rathore said, “How can they keep the title of the film as just ‘Prithviraj’ when the film is based on the great Prithviraj Chauhan? We want the title to be changed to his full name and give respect to him.”

Surjeet Singh Rathore also warned the makers of the film by adding, “If they don’t listen to our advice they will have to face the consequences. What happened to Sanjay Leela Bhansali during ‘Padmaavat’, the makers of this film will have to be prepared for it, too.”

Karni Sena also demanded that the producer screen the film for them before the official release.

Akshay Kumar shared the announcement of the film on his birthday via twitter that read, “Elated to share about my 1st historical film on my birthday!Humbled to have the opportunity to play a hero I look up to for his valor & values- Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan in one of my biggest films #Prithviraj. Producer @yrf, director #DrChandraprakashDwivedi, releasing Diwali 2020.”

Director Chandraprakash Dwivedi revealed the story of the film, He said, “Prithviraj is also based mainly on medieval literature, an epic called ‘Prithviraj Raso’ by the great poet Chand Bardai. Apart from a couple of versions of Raso, there are many other literary works on Prithviraj, his life, and times. In addition to these there are commentaries on Raso.”

Prithviraj is produced by Yash Raj Films. Indian actress Manushi Chhillar will play lead actress role in the film. She will be seen opposite Akshay Kumar playing the role of Samyukta, wife of Prithviraj Chauhan. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana, Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Vij and Lalit Tiwari. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on 5 November 2021.
